If you are not aware of your own potential or your own body’s capabilities, you’re not going to be as successful in your sport.
The truth is that even though we’re all pretty much the same size, we have different abilities. Even for the same reason, I have different body types. A person can be shorter, stronger, or heavier than another. A person who can run faster and jump higher is more athletic than one who is only capable of doing one thing. People also have different skills. A person who can jump higher is good with a tennis racket, but not good with a golf club.
Some of us have more control over our bodies than others. A person who can kick harder is probably stronger than one who can do the same thing with a stick. A person who can run a few yards further than the other is more agile. A person who can jump higher than the other is more athletic. It doesn’t necessarily make us any more successful pool players, but it also doesn’t make us any less of a pain in the ass.
The game is built on the idea that you’re a big, athletic animal who can jump and run, so you’re probably a good player. However, if you can’t get anywhere near the top of the leaderboard it’s probably because you’re just as bad as the other players. You can play a game with a stick, or you can play a game with a tennis racket. The only real difference is that the stick player can win, but the tennis player can’t.
