The whole thing is an effort to make a wiki for fans of Fallout, and it’s a pretty good effort for the most part. In its current state, the wiki is still pretty empty. The most notable thing is that the whole thing is still empty, so when I say something a few days ago that I know is going to be on the wiki, it’s not being put on there.
That’s a good thing. We’ve been trying to encourage community members to add stuff to the wiki, but we don’t have the resources to keep up on it. We’re working on that, but it’s going to take a while.
Fallout Wiki has a lot of content on it, but is really mostly just a collection of empty pages. So if someone were to find a page with a page of the new game, they would probably just look for the wiki and see that it doesn’t exist. I think this is because it was only made public in August. I know that some fan pages do get made, but I think the wiki is the least popular.
The wiki is still in its infancy. I know that there are people working on it. I’m sure it will eventually be more productive, but it’s still a work in progress. It won’t be long before someone will try to do something with it. For now, though, its pretty bare bones.

If you want to post up anything in the game, you will have to post it in the wiki, which is a more reliable and less time-consuming way to do it.
The only reason I would post the wiki here is to make sure that there isn’t too much discussion in the forum. If there was too much of it, the wiki would no doubt be overwhelmed by the amount of time, and thus be impossible to update.
