Sony is Making a New Sensor

Sony has always been known for making great sensors for both mobile and camera devices. By all means its latest sensors used in the NEX line and the Xperia S smart-phone not only show great results but are appreciated by Sony and not only fans all over the world. Well, the good news is that Sony has announced its next generation of smart-phone and tablet image sensors called dubbed 'Exmor RS.' 'Exmor RS is said to come in three different options – two 8 MP units and a higher-end 13MP unit. Those are going to be f/2.2 lenses opening the door to higher-quality HDR (high dynamic range) video recording on mobile devices which sounds just great. Also, according to the source “Exmor RS will utilize a stacked CMOS sensor with a standard RGB coding, compared to earlier models which required additional detectors for white light in addition to red, green and blue.”
